Death and Cigarettes

My mother died. I don't feel all that sad. I'm more sad at the missed opportunities. Because of alcohol she wasn't the mother she should have been (I won't go into things here, a least not right now). And because of cigarettes she lost 20 years of life. How do I figure 20 years, you might ask. My grandmother died at the age of 96, she had never smoked. Her daughter (my mother) died at 76, thus 20 years. But that is not all. For the past 12 years or so she hasn't done much because of smoking related causes. Her quality of life was seriously reduced. My grandmother had a good quality of life until about the last 2 or 3 years. Thus I figure cigarettes took nearly 30 years away from my mother! How sad is that. I wish I could tell people, especially young people that smoke, how important it is not to start smoking or to quite right away. Save your life! Or at least 30 years of it.
Love to you all.
